How to Empty Your Rain Gauge

Emptying the World’s Coolest Rain Gauge® is simple. You can empty it after each rain event or after watering, or you can leave the measurement tube in place to track rainfall over several days.

Emptying Your Rain Gauge

To empty the rain gauge, lift the copper container out of the steel holder.

Place one finger over the top of the blue measurement tube so it does not slide out, then gently tip the copper container to pour out the water. The water will flow through and around the tube as the container empties.

You can also remove the blue tube before emptying if you prefer.

Once the water is emptied, place the copper container and blue measurement tube back into the holder.

Can I Leave the Rain Gauge Full?

Yes. You can leave the measurement tube in place if you want to track multi-day or multi-event rainfall. Empty it whenever you are ready to reset the reading.

Quick Tips

• Empty after rain, watering, or whenever you want to reset the gauge.
• Keep a finger over the blue tube when pouring.
• Water can drain around the tube without removing it.
• Replace the container and tube assembly in the holder when finished.
